Eva Olsson, One of few holocaust surivivors!

Stunned, overwhelmed, enlightened and saddened are some of the emotions I was feeling last Monday after hearing a wonderful presentation by Eva Olsson a holocaust survivor. Eva Olsson is 90 years young and originally from Hungary, and in my opinion one of the most courageous people in the world.

She started the presentation by introducing herself, and telling us a little about herself, then began informing us of the statistics, and where she was sent. Eva and her largely expanded family were sent by train to Poland, they were told to pack their bags because they were being sent to a factory in germany to make bricks. She was sent to a place called Auschwitz, a concentration camp for jewish people. Auschwitz was one of the worst concentration camps in the Holocaust. No one was meant to survive but after the Canadian and Swedish troops came into to evacuate them and the Nazi Germans fled. Once she escaped to sweden she met her true love and married. After 17 years of marriage her husband was killed in a drunk driving accident.

After all the heartbreak in her life, she in her life, she is still living a courageous life, and her main motto, as she explained, was to NEVER use the word hate. Because hate is what started the Holocaust and all genecides.
